An experienced energy and commodities lawyer, Philip specialises in international trade and its finance with a particular emphasis on crude oil and oil products, as well as metals and soft commodities. Over the years, he has acted on a wide variety of projects and deals, all over the world, representing oil companies, commodities trading houses, banks and entrepreneurs.
Philip has over 25 years’ experience advising on commercial contracts, pre-export finance, syndicated loans, payment instruments, discounting of receivables (with and without recourse), risk participation and mitigation, banking documentation and joint ventures. His practice also includes drafting and negotiating insurance policies for credit risk, contract frustration and political risk, including their interaction with bank finance/risk cover.
Philip is fluent in French and Hebrew. He also has a reading knowledge of Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch and Arabic.
