Keystone Law Isle of Man’s growing team is delighted to welcome employment advocate, Rachel Berry from Appleby.

Rachel’s legal practice has a specialist focus on employment and dispute resolution. She has assisted with the employment aspects of a number of acquisitions and reorganisations in the Isle of Man, carrying out reviews of employment contracts and advising prospective purchasers of their obligations towards the employees. On the contentious side, Rachel has advised both employers and employees on disputes, helped negotiate settlements, drafted compromise agreements and, when a solution couldn’t be reached, appeared before the employment tribunal.

Outside of the employment arena Rachel has a broad litigation experience, having acted in a number of high value personal injury claims, complicated will disputes and insolvency matters.

Since its launch in January, Keystone Law IOM has seen continued success. Its agile structure, that allows both lawyers and clients to take greater control, has been welcomed as a refreshing new approach to law – leading to the IOM office and its UK counterpart being nominated for two coveted Lawyer Business Leadership Awards. The newly implemented ‘Set Up and Go’ lawyer initiative, which aims to improve efficiency and scope of client services, was shortlisted for the Agile Working Award. Meanwhile, Keystone’s launch on the Island led to it being nominated for the Innovation in Client Acquisition Award.

Rachel’s arrival now sees a total of six senior senior lawyers servicing both the business’s local and international client base, across a range of areas – including corporate and commercial, employment, pensions, real estate and tax.

Geoff Kermeen, managing partner of Keystone Law IOM commented:

“Rachel is highly regarded amongst peers and clients in the employment field and beyond. Her commercial approach and expertise will bolster the firm’s offering, in this rapidly evolving space. We are delighted that Rachel has chosen to join us.”

Rachel Berry continued:

“I am delighted to be joining Keystone Law IOM. As a mum of three, I was keen to maintain my established practice without sacrificing my family life in the process. Keystone’s flexible structure is the perfect fit for me, my career and my busy lifestyle.”
